Overview
NIT Calicut was originally established in 1961 as a Regional Engineering College and was transformed into a National Institute of Technology in 2002. It was declared an Institution of National Importance under the NIT Act of 2007 and is fully funded by the Government of India. The institute is located at Kattangal, near Kozhikode in Kerala. It offers bachelors, masters and doctoral programmes across engineering, science, technology, architecture and management.
