Admission Process

B.Tech admission is through AEEE, Amrita's own computer-based entrance test, or through JEE Main percentile, and AEEE is not compulsory if you have a JEE score. Seats across campuses are allotted through a centralised counselling process (CSAP) where candidates choose campus and branch after ranks are published. There is no management quota; scholarship slabs are allotted purely on AEEE or JEE merit.

How to apply β€” typical steps

Every university's exact process differs β€” confirm each step on the official website.

Scholarships

Instead of separate scholarships, Amrita runs a fee-slab system: top AEEE rankers and high JEE Main percentilers pay sharply reduced tuition (slab 1), with two intermediate slabs above it and the regular fee at the top. Slabs are renewed every year based on CGPA, so keeping grades up is what keeps the lower fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is AEEE mandatory for B.Tech admission at Amrita?

No. You can apply with a JEE Main percentile instead of appearing for AEEE. Both routes feed into the same centralised seat allotment process.

How does the Amrita fee slab system work?

Your first-year tuition slab depends on your AEEE rank or JEE Main percentile, ranging from about β‚Ή1.5 lakh a year at the top slab to the regular fee of about β‚Ή6 lakh for CSE (indicative). The slab is renewed yearly based on your CGPA.

Does Amrita have a management quota for B.Tech?

No. The university states there is no management quota or donation-based admission; scholarship-category seats are allotted on AEEE or JEE merit.

Is there lateral entry into B.Tech at Amrita?

No. Amrita does not offer lateral entry admission into its B.Tech programmes.
