If you are still waiting for a medical seat in West Bengal, today is the day to act. Registration for the West Bengal NEET UG 2026 special stray round closes on November 4, and this is the last MBBS counselling window of this admission cycle in the state.

The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) opened the window on November 2. It covers MBBS seats under the special stray round and BDS and BSc Nursing seats under Round 5 of counselling. Registration and fee payment run through the official WBMCC portal, and candidates should complete the process there rather than through any third party site.

What this round covers

The special stray round exists to fill MBBS seats that stayed vacant after the earlier counselling rounds. For dental and nursing aspirants, the same window serves as Round 5, so BDS and BSc Nursing candidates are working to the same registration deadline even though their round number is different.

This round is for candidates who qualified NEET UG 2026 and took part in earlier WBMCC rounds without securing a seat. It is not a fresh start for the whole applicant pool, and anyone who skipped the earlier rounds should check the eligibility rules on the portal before paying any fee.

The dates to keep in front of you

Registration opened on November 2 and closes on November 4. One published schedule puts registration and fee payment together, both ending at 3 pm today. A separate report on the state Directorate of Medical Education schedule says fee payments run to November 5. With two timings in circulation, the safe move is to finish registration and payment today and not rely on the extra day.

Choice filling and locking runs to 11 am on November 5. Seat allotment is then processed over November 5 and 6, and the allotment result is scheduled for November 7. Candidates who get a seat should watch the portal for the reporting schedule that follows the result, since reporting dates are published separately.

Our admission documents checklist is worth a read before you log in, because the details on the form need to match the documents you will produce at reporting time.

What comes after this round

For MBBS aspirants in West Bengal, there is no further counselling round in this cycle once the special stray round ends. That makes the November 7 result the final allotment these candidates will see for the 2026 session.

BDS and BSc Nursing candidates get one more chance. WBMCC has announced Round 6 for those two streams starting November 17, with the result scheduled for November 20. Anyone in those streams who misses out in Round 5 should keep their documents ready for that window instead of assuming the process is over.
