The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee has released the Round 1 schedule for NEET PG 2026 counselling. Online registration for postgraduate medical seats in the state begins on October 22 and closes on October 28, 2026.
The schedule was published with the official notice and information bulletin on October 14. It covers admission to MD, MS, postgraduate diploma and applicable DNB courses under the state’s counselling system. Candidates who qualified NEET PG 2026 and meet the WBMCC eligibility criteria, including the domicile and service rules set by the state government, can take part.
Round 1 schedule at a glance
Registration runs from 11 AM on October 22 to 6 PM on October 28. Online fee payment stays open a little longer, till midnight on October 28.
Document verification is scheduled from October 26. WBMCC will then publish the list of successfully verified candidates along with the Round 1 seat matrix on October 30, after 2 PM. Choice filling and locking run from 4 PM on October 30 till midnight on November 1. The Round 1 seat allotment result is due on November 4. Reporting and admission at the allotted institutes begin on November 5, so candidates should check the official notice for the exact reporting slots.
How to register
Registration happens only on the official portal, wbmcc.nic.in. Open the PG medical counselling section once the link is live, enter your NEET PG details and personal information, complete the form, and pay the counselling fee. Save the registration confirmation.
Keep your documents ready before you start: the NEET PG scorecard and admit card, MBBS degree or provisional certificate, MBBS marksheets, internship completion certificate, medical registration certificate, a government photo ID, and category or PwBD certificates where applicable. Our admission documents checklist covers how to organise these before a deadline.
The two deadlines on October 28 are different, so note both. Registration closes at 6 PM, while the fee payment window runs till midnight.
What happens after registration
After registration, candidates complete document verification as per the official schedule. WBMCC then releases the verified candidate list and the Round 1 seat matrix, which shows college-wise and subject-wise seats with the category break-up. Go through that matrix carefully before filling your choices, and list your colleges in your genuine order of preference.
The allotment result is out on November 4. Candidates who get a seat must report to the allotted institute from November 5 with the required original documents and fees to complete admission formalities.
