If you missed the first Uttarakhand NEET PG deadline, you have until 5 PM today. Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMU) has extended Round 1 registration for NEET PG 2026 counselling by one day, moving the cut-off from October 26 to October 27.
The notice went up on October 26, after candidates asked for more time. Registration had opened on October 22 at 1 PM, and the university has now kept the window open through the afternoon of October 27. Candidates who have not yet registered or paid the security fee need to finish both steps before 5 PM, because only registered candidates can take part in Round 1.
What changed in the revised schedule
The extension has shifted the early dates of the round, while the later dates stay as first announced. The provisional state merit list will now appear on October 28, after 3 PM. Choice filling and locking run from 9 AM on October 29 to 11:59 PM on October 30.
| Event | Date and time |
|---|---|
| Online registration and security fee payment | October 22, 1 PM to October 27, 5 PM |
| Provisional state merit list | October 28, after 3 PM |
| Choice filling and locking | October 29, 9 AM to October 30, 11:59 PM |
| Data processing | October 31 and November 1 |
| Round 1 result | November 2, after 8 PM |
| Last date of joining the allotted college | November 10 |
Candidates should treat the merit list date as the next checkpoint. A place on the provisional list does not by itself secure a seat. The seat depends on the state rank, the category, and the order in which choices are filled during the October 29 to 30 window.
Who can register, and what it costs
Registration is open to candidates who have qualified NEET PG 2026 and meet the Uttarakhand government norms for state counselling. The registration fee is Rs 8,000 for all categories, payable online by credit card, debit card or net banking. According to the counselling schedule, the fee covers two rounds of counselling.
HNBUMU has also published the list of candidates registered for NRI quota seats in Round 1, so candidates in that category should check the list on the university website alongside the main schedule. The board has said the schedule can still change, and the latest notice on its website will apply if any date moves again.
For the rest of the round, the practical steps are straightforward. Register and pay before 5 PM today, check the provisional merit list on October 28, and fill choices carefully on October 29 and 30. Candidates who are allotted a seat in Round 1 must join the allotted college by November 10. Keep the documents ready for verification, and check the official HNBUMU counselling portal for the merit list and result rather than relying on forwarded messages. Our admission documents checklist covers the papers candidates are usually asked to produce at this stage.
