Uttar Pradesh MBBS and BDS aspirants have until 2 PM on October 28 to register for the revised Round 3 of UP NEET UG 2026 counselling. The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, opened the window on October 26, and the state merit list follows on the same day registration closes. The round covers state-quota seats in government and private medical and dental colleges across the state, including King George’s Medical University in Lucknow.
Registration runs on the official UP NEET counselling portal. The revised schedule follows the release of MBBS seats surrendered from the All India Quota pool by the Medical Counselling Committee, so check the seat matrix before locking any preference. DGME also publishes notices on dgme.up.gov.in; those two sites carry the schedule that counts if any date moves.
Who can register now
Only candidates who qualified in NEET UG 2026 can apply, and they must meet the DGME eligibility and domicile rules for the seats they want. The window is mainly for candidates who did not register in Round 1 or Round 2. Candidates who already registered do not need to register again and can go straight to choice filling.
One restriction matters for anyone holding a seat already. A candidate who was allotted a seat in an earlier round and joined that college cannot take part again. A candidate allotted a seat who did not join may re-enter under the DGME rules for this round; read the current bulletin rather than assuming the old rules still apply.
Keep the NEET UG 2026 scorecard, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, domicile proof and ID proof ready before starting the form, and download the confirmation page once it is submitted.
What it costs
The registration fee is Rs 2,000. The security deposit depends on the seats a candidate wants to compete for: Rs 30,000 for government medical and dental seats, Rs 2,00,000 for private medical seats, and Rs 1,00,000 for private dental seats. The deposit is refundable under the counselling rules, while the registration fee is not. Payment runs online through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI, and both the form and the payment must be complete by the 2 PM deadline on October 28.
Choice filling, allotment and reporting
Choice filling and locking run from October 28 to October 31. Rank colleges and courses in genuine order of preference, checking the seat matrix first. An unlocked list does not count, and locked choices cannot be changed afterwards.
The Round 3 seat allotment result is scheduled for November 2. Candidates who get a seat download the allotment letter and report to the allotted college between November 3 and November 7 with original documents. Check our admission documents checklist before reporting, so paperwork does not stall an allotted seat. State-quota counselling runs on its own track from the national All India Quota round, and our guide to central, state and private universities explains how the two tracks sit apart.
Round 3 is the last full stage before the stray vacancy round, which offers fewer seats under stricter rules. Treat October 28 as a hard stop.
