October 31 at 5 pm is the deadline that matters now for UP NEET UG Round 3 candidates. The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, released the Round 3 state merit list on October 28, and the choice filling window that opened the same evening closes at that time.
The merit list is available on the official UP NEET portal as a downloadable PDF. Candidates should search it with their NEET roll number and check the merit and category details shown against their name. Any error in those details should be raised through the counselling authority on the portal, since allotment is worked out from the list as published.
Only candidates who completed Round 3 registration and fee payment by October 28 are in the list. Registration for this round ran from October 26 to October 28, and the merit list followed on the last of those days. Candidates who did not register in this round are not part of it, even if they took part in an earlier round.
How choice filling works in this round
Choice filling opened on October 28 at 5 pm and runs to October 31 at 5 pm. Candidates log in to the portal, pick their preferred medical and dental colleges and courses, and arrange them in order of preference. That order decides what they can be allotted, so a college left off the list cannot be given to them later.
Candidates should lock their choices before the deadline rather than rely on the automatic lock at the end of the window. Locking them manually leaves a clear record of the final order, and a saved copy of the locked list is worth keeping.
Shortlisting helps here. Government and private colleges differ on fees, and the seat matrix for the round shows which MBBS and BDS seats are actually on offer. Candidates still weighing which college to put first can work through how to choose a university in India before the window closes, and keep the admission documents checklist ready for the reporting stage that follows allotment.
What happens after October 31
The Round 3 seat allotment result is scheduled for November 2, 2026. Allotted candidates can then download their allotment letters and complete admission at the allotted college between November 3 and November 7, 2026. That step includes document verification at the college, so original certificates should be ready before the result comes out rather than after.
Appearing in the merit list does not guarantee a seat. Allotment depends on NEET merit, the preferences on record, category, and how many seats are left in each college. Candidates who do not get a seat in this round should watch the portal for any mop-up or stray vacancy notice from DGME.
For now, the practical sequence is short: check the merit list on upneet.gov.in, fill and lock choices by 5 pm on October 31, and check back on November 2 for the allotment result. The state colleges in this round include institutions such as King George’s Medical University in Lucknow, along with other government and private medical and dental colleges across Uttar Pradesh.
