Tomorrow is the day most Uttar Pradesh medical graduates in this counselling round have been waiting for. The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, will declare the UP NEET PG 2026 Round 1 seat allotment result on November 2, 2026.

The result covers MD, MS, diploma and DNB seats under the state quota in government and private medical colleges across Uttar Pradesh. Allotment follows the state merit rank, the reservation category, the locked preferences and the seats available when a candidate’s turn comes. Choice filling closed on October 30, so preferences can no longer be reordered.

Who is in the running, and for how many seats

A total of 6,084 candidates are eligible for state-quota MD and MS seats in Round 1. The Round 1 matrix lists 3,961 postgraduate seats in all, split between 1,095 seats in government medical colleges and 2,866 seats in private medical colleges. King George’s Medical University in Lucknow holds 186 seats, the highest count among government colleges in the matrix.

Those numbers explain why the result matters beyond the candidates who get a seat at the first attempt. With more eligible candidates than seats, a sizeable group will go unallotted in Round 1 and will need to watch for the next round.

How to check the result

Candidates should check the result only on the official UP NEET counselling portal. After the result is published, an allotted candidate can download the allotment letter from the same portal. That letter is the first document the allotted college will ask for at reporting, so it should be downloaded and printed at once rather than left to the last reporting day.

Reporting runs in two phases

Admission formalities run in two phases. The first phase runs from November 3 to 7, 2026, and the second phase runs on November 12 and 13, 2026. Allotted candidates must report and complete admission within the phase that applies to them. Missing the window risks losing the seat, which then goes back into the pool for later rounds.

Reporting means document verification as well as fee payment at the allotted college or nodal centre. Candidates should carry originals, since photocopies alone will not complete admission. The admission documents checklist covers the papers usually asked for at this stage.

The usual set includes the allotment letter, the NEET PG admit card and scorecard, MBBS marksheets, the internship completion certificate and the registration certificate, plus a reservation certificate where applicable. If original documents are unavailable at reporting, or if any document is found incorrect on verification, the allotment can be cancelled and the security money forfeited under the DGME notice. Checking each paper against the list before travelling to the college is worth the time.

What happens if no seat is allotted

A candidate who finds no allotment on November 2 has not lost the counselling process. Seats left unfilled after reporting, and seats vacated by candidates who do not join, come back for subsequent rounds. The practical step is to keep the registration details safe and to check the official portal for the Round 2 schedule instead of relying on forwarded messages about dates.
