October 26 is the deadline Uttar Pradesh medical aspirants need to circle. The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh has opened Round 1 registration for UP NEET PG 2026 counselling, and the window to apply closes at 11 AM on October 26, 2026.

Registration runs on the official UP NEET counselling portal. The round covers state-quota seats in MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB programmes at government and private medical colleges across Uttar Pradesh, including King George’s Medical University in Lucknow.

What it costs to register

Every applicant pays a non-refundable registration fee of ₹3,000. On top of that comes a security deposit, which depends on the type of seat you want to compete for. Candidates applying only for government medical and dental seats deposit ₹30,000. Those who also want a shot at private medical college seats must deposit ₹2,00,000, while candidates opting for private dental colleges deposit ₹1,00,000. Without the applicable deposit, a candidate cannot take part in online choice filling.

The Round 1 schedule

The counselling moves fast once registration closes, and candidates have little room for error. The DGME publishes the Round 1 merit list on October 26 itself. Online choice filling runs from 5 PM on October 26 to 5 PM on October 30, and the seat allotment result is declared on November 2.
