More than 250 postgraduate students at four UK universities’ India campuses will meet employers before they graduate, through a joint placement week planned for the end of November 2026. The event is invitation-only for employers, and it is the first time the four campuses have pooled their students for recruitment.

The campuses taking part are the University of Bristol Mumbai Enterprise Campus, the University of York Mumbai, the University of Liverpool Bengaluru and the University of Aberdeen Mumbai. All four are international branch campuses, and the students involved are from their founding postgraduate cohorts, due to graduate in 2027.

How the placement week will work

The week is convened by Emeritus, the education company that works with the campuses. Employers interested in hiring have to submit their interest by mid-November through placements@emeritus.org. A central placement committee reviews each request and holds screening sessions to match it with what employers are looking for.

After that, each university screens its own students’ profiles against the roles on offer. Shortlisted employers then join the placement week to interview students in person at the Mumbai and Bengaluru campuses, or online, and can extend offer letters before graduation.

For employers, the draw is early access. Instead of waiting for the 2027 graduation season, they can interview and hire from the founding cohorts months ahead of it. For the campuses, it is a chance to show recruiters what their first batches can do.

Who the 250 students are

The cohort is a mix of fresh graduates and working professionals. Those with prior work experience average between 2.4 and 3 years in their fields, according to the announcement. Their professional backgrounds cover banking and financial services, IT and technology, consulting, finance, audit and accounting, sales, marketing and client roles, product and business analytics, and media and design.

Academically, they come from engineering, computer science and technology, business and management, commerce and finance, and science. The disciplines represented in the placement week itself are finance, technology, AI, management and creative industries.

Why this week carries weight for the campuses

These campuses operate under the University Grants Commission’s regulations for foreign higher education institutions, introduced under the National Education Policy 2020, and are aligned with the India-UK Vision 2035. Students follow curricula designed by the home campus, with the same assessment standards and degrees as their peers in the UK, and the campuses are sited close to corporate offices so students work on live projects with companies.

Placement is the part of the pitch that is still unproven. Our earlier reporting found that first cohorts at foreign campuses in India have been small, with a median of 120 students per campus, and that families have been waiting for placement evidence before committing to the fees. A joint week that produces offers before graduation would give these four campuses something concrete to point to.

Students weighing a foreign campus in India against an Indian private university still need to check fees, accreditation and outcomes side by side. Our guide to choosing a university in India sets out how to compare those factors for any university, Indian or foreign. For the campuses in this placement week, the UGC’s list of approved foreign institutions, published on the UGC website, is the first check before paying any fee.
