If you applied for UGC NET December 2026, Monday is the day to open your form again and read it line by line. The National Testing Agency (NTA) opens the application correction window on November 2, and it closes at 11:50 pm on November 4.

Corrections are made online, on the official UGC NET website. Only candidates who have already submitted an application can use the window. It does not reopen applications for anyone who missed the registration deadline.

What led up to this window

Applications for the December session opened on October 8 and closed on October 28. Candidates who missed that date were allowed to submit with an additional late fee of Rs 500 until October 31. The correction window is the next step in that schedule, and it runs for three days, counting the opening day.

What you can change, and what you cannot

The fields most candidates will actually be able to revise are category, sub-category and exam city choices. Under the revised bulletin, exam city preferences are shown according to the candidate’s state or Union Territory of permanent or present address, and can be revised during the window.

Some fields are locked. Mobile number, email address, and permanent and correspondence addresses cannot be changed. Candidates who verified through Aadhaar cannot change their name, gender or date of birth. Candidates who did not verify through Aadhaar can change either the father’s name or the mother’s name or their own name, but only one of the three.

One point needs care. EdexLive reports that NTA is expected to issue a separate notification specifying the fields that can be modified in the December window. Read that notification when the correction link goes live, and treat it as the final word if it differs from earlier guidance.

How to make the correction

Log in to the official website, open the UGC NET December 2026 correction link, and open your submitted form. Edit only the permitted details, then read the whole form again before submitting. If a change moves you into a higher fee category, pay the extra amount shown. Submit the revised form and download the updated confirmation page. Our admission documents checklist is worth a look here, since the details on your form should match those documents exactly.

Once the window closes, NTA does not entertain requests to change application details, so submit early in the window rather than on November 4.

What happens after the window

The next dates in the schedule are already fixed. The exam city intimation slip will be available from November 23, and admit cards can be downloaded from December 7. The exams themselves run from December 14 to 18 and on December 21, 2026. UGC NET decides eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship, for Assistant Professor posts, and for admission to PhD programmes in Indian universities and colleges.
