Design aspirants have until 11:59 tonight to register for UCEED 2027 without paying extra. The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay closes the regular-fee window for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design on Wednesday, November 5. Applications stay open after that, but only till 5 pm on November 10, and with an additional late fee of ₹500.
This is the second date for the same window. IIT Bombay first set October 31 as the last day for regular registration, then moved it to November 5. The late-fee deadline moved as well, from November 6 to November 10. The extension, announced on October 31, gave applicants five more days to register at the regular fee. The institute has said it will not extend the dates again.
What the fee is
The regular fee is ₹4,000 for most Indian candidates. Female candidates and candidates from the SC, ST and PwD categories pay ₹2,000. Anyone who registers after tonight pays ₹500 more on top of the regular fee. The ₹500 late fee applies to Indian candidates; foreign nationals have a separate fee structure.
The deadline tonight covers the fee payment as well as the form, so an application left half-finished does not count. Candidates should check that the payment shows as completed before logging out.
Who the exam is for
UCEED is the entrance test for Bachelor of Design programmes at seven institutes: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur. IIT Bombay conducts the exam and runs the registration portal.
The exam is a single three-hour paper, held on January 17, 2027, from 9 am to 12 noon. Admit cards will be available from 1 pm on January 1, 2027. Results are due on March 6, 2027, about seven weeks after the exam, and the participating institutes use the scores for their B.Des admissions.
How to apply
Applications go through the official UCEED portal. Candidates register on the portal, fill in personal and academic details, upload a photograph, signature, proof of age and other certificates, pay the fee online and submit the form. The confirmation page should be downloaded and saved. The portal stays open through the late-fee window, so missing tonight still leaves a second chance till November 10. Our admission documents checklist covers the paperwork most applicants need to keep ready.
