The final phase of postgraduate counselling in Telangana reaches its last step today. Osmania University is due to release the provisional seat allotment for the final phase of TS CPGET 2026 counselling on October 14, with the result expected between 2 pm and 6 pm. Candidates who locked their web options in the final phase can check the allotment on the official admissions portal.

What is being released today

The allotment covers MA, MSc, MCom and postgraduate diploma courses, along with the first-phase allotment for MEd and MPEd admissions. Seats are allotted on rank merit, the web options candidates submitted, and local and category reservation rules. Osmania University is handling the final-phase counselling on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, while the CPGET exam itself is conducted by Kakatiya University.

The participating universities include Kakatiya, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi, Palamuru, Satavahana, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and Telangana Mahila Visvavidyalayam. More than 70,000 students register for the exam in a typical year, so the final phase is the last chance for candidates still waiting for a postgraduate seat in a Telangana state university.

How to check the allotment

Go to the official admissions portal and look for the link marked “Provisional Allotment Result - Final Phase”. Log in with your CPGET hall ticket number and your rank or date of birth. The screen will show the allotted college, course and category. Download the provisional allotment letter and the fee payment receipt, and keep a printout of both.

What to do after you get a seat

Pay the tuition or admission fee online through the login portal. Then report in person to the allotted college by October 17 with your original marksheets, transfer certificate, and caste or income certificates where they apply, plus two sets of self-attested photocopies. Our admission documents checklist covers the full set of papers to carry.

This is the final round of centralised counselling. Candidates who do not complete fee payment and physical verification by October 17 lose the seat. There is no next round to wait for, so the reporting window is the part to protect. If travel is involved, plan for it now rather than on the last day, since colleges will not hold a seat past the deadline.

Who this round was for

Registration for the final phase ran from October 6 to October 9. Candidates entered fresh web options between October 7 and October 10, with an editing window on October 10. Fresh options were required: choices submitted in earlier rounds did not carry over into this one. Only candidates who exercised and locked web options in the final phase are part of today’s allotment.

Candidates who get a seat should also check the college’s own joining instructions, since reporting formalities can differ by institution. For help weighing one allotted college against another, our guide on how to choose a university in India sets out what to compare before you report.
