Candidates who applied for postgraduate medical seats in Tamil Nadu should check one list today. The Selection Committee of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu, has published the lists of ineligible candidates for TN NEET PG Counselling 2026, for the 2026-27 academic session. The lists cover applicants for Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS) and postgraduate diploma programmes.
The lists are split by quota. Separate lists have been published for government quota, management quota, persons with disabilities (PwD) and minority quota applicants. A name on one of these lists means the application was flagged during scrutiny, most often for missing paperwork or a mismatch in the documents submitted.
What to do if your name is on a list
Finding your name on the list does not end your chances, but the window to fix it is short. The grievance portal stays open only till October 28, 2026. After that date, the Selection Committee has said plainly that grievances will not be entertained, and no individual letters or reminders will be sent to affected candidates. Checking the list yourself is the only way to know where you stand.
The process runs on the official TN medical selection portal. Open the Post Graduate-Medical section and look for the grievance portal link. Log in with your registered application ID, password and security code, find the exact item flagged as missing, and upload the correct document. Submit the grievance before the deadline and keep a copy of the submission for your own record.
It helps to upload the document the committee actually asked for, rather than a full set of papers again. A missing community certificate, a nativity proof or a degree certificate are the usual gaps in this kind of scrutiny, and the portal shows which item is missing against each application. Our admission documents checklist runs through the certificates candidates most often need ready before starting any admission form.
Why this list matters now
TN NEET PG counselling fills MD, MS and diploma seats in government medical colleges and government-quota seats in self-financing colleges, all affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University. The ineligible lists come at the stage where the merit process is being finalised, so an uncorrected flag can keep a candidate out of the seat allotment rounds that follow.
Candidates who are not on any ineligible list do not need to file anything. The grievance portal is only for applicants whose names appear on the lists and who believe the flag is wrong or can be fixed with a document they hold. Anyone in that position should act on October 27 or 28 rather than waiting for the last hours of the window, when portal traffic tends to peak.
