Tamil Nadu’s NEET PG 2026 round 1 allotment is out, and the clock is already running. The Selection Committee under the Directorate of Medical Education and Research published the provisional allotment on November 5, and candidates who got a seat have until 5 pm on November 10 to report to their college. Miss that deadline and the seat goes back into the pool for round 2.

The allotment covers MD, MS and postgraduate diploma seats in government medical colleges and in government and management quota seats in self-financing colleges. The committee released the MDS and DNB broad speciality lists on the same day, so dental and DNB candidates face the same November 10 deadline. All state quota seats fall under The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, which affiliates the state’s medical colleges.

Allotment followed the state merit list, NEET PG 2026 scores, the state’s reservation policy and the choices candidates locked by 5 pm on November 3. Registration and choice filling ran from October 31 to November 3, and the committee processed allotments on November 4. The round 1 rank lists called government quota ranks 1 to 7,952 and management quota ranks 1 to 3,643. Candidates who did not get a seat stay eligible for round 2.

How to download the allotment order

The allotment order is the document a college asks for at reporting, so download it first. Log in to the official Selection Committee portal, open the NEET PG 2026 round 1 allotment link, and download the order from the dashboard. The download window runs from November 5 until 3 pm on November 10, two hours before the joining deadline closes. Print a copy and keep the fee receipt with it.

What to carry to the college

Reporting is in person, and colleges check originals. Candidates need the NEET PG 2026 admit card, scorecard and rank letter, the MBBS degree and mark sheets, the internship completion certificate, and the medical registration certificate. Class 10 certificate for date of birth, transfer certificate, community and nativity certificates where applicable, a government photo ID, passport-size photographs and the allotment order complete the set. Our admission documents checklist runs through the same papers most counselling portals ask for, so it is worth a read before packing the folder.

If the seat is not taken

A candidate who does not join by 5 pm on November 10 forfeits the seat. It moves into round 2, and the committee is expected to publish the round 2 schedule and the tentative vacancy list on the portal soon after the joining window closes. Resignation and upgradation rules will follow the round 2 schedule.
