REVA University in Bengaluru has opened admissions for four online degrees, two days after it launched a new centre for distance and online learning. The Centre for Distance and Online Education was inaugurated on November 5, 2026, and applications are now open for the January 2027 cycle.
The four programmes at launch are BBA and BCA at undergraduate level, and MBA and MCA at postgraduate level. The centre will run two admission cycles a year, in January and July, so applicants who miss the January intake get another chance in the middle of next year.
Who can apply
For BBA and BCA, applicants need 10+2, PUC or an equivalent qualification, with at least 50% marks. Reserved-category candidates need 45%.
For MBA and MCA, the requirement is a three-year bachelor’s degree from a UGC-recognised institution, again with 50% marks, or 45% for reserved categories. The MCA also offers a bridge path for graduates from non-computer-science backgrounds, so a degree in another subject does not shut the door on the course.
What the centre is for
The centre is aimed at students, working professionals, entrepreneurs and people who want to keep learning alongside a job. The idea is to carry REVA’s teaching beyond its Bengaluru campus through online classes, so learners do not have to move to the city for a degree. The university said the centre aims to extend its academic excellence beyond the traditional campus by offering online learning opportunities to students who cannot attend full-time classes.
The launch also lines up with the National Education Policy 2020 goal of raising enrolment in higher education. Online degrees are one of the ways the policy expects universities to reach learners who cannot attend a full-time campus course.
The centre was inaugurated by Chancellor Dr. P. Shyama Raju, with Registrar Dr. M. Dhanamjaya, Registrar (Evaluation) Dr. Beena G, and Pro Vice Chancellors Dr. K. S. Narayanswamy and Dr. Y. Ramalingareddy present.
