Out of nearly 1.4 lakh candidates who sat the Rajasthan State Eligibility Test this year, 9,191 made the cut. The University of Kota declared the SET 2026 result on November 6, and published the subject-wise final answer keys alongside it.
The result is the last step in a process that began with the written exam on September 13. Candidates appeared for the test in subjects ranging from English and History to Commerce, Management and Law, all competing for eligibility to teach at the assistant professor level in Rajasthan.
What the numbers show
The university said 1,77,901 candidates had registered for SET 2026. Of those, 1,39,383 appeared for the exam, and 9,191 qualified. That works out to a pass rate of 6.59%, or roughly one in every fifteen candidates who took the test.
The university has published the roll numbers of provisionally qualified candidates. Anyone whose roll number does not appear in the list has not cleared the exam. The result is provisional, and the university has also released cutoff marks with the result.
How the marking worked
The marking scheme followed UGC NET guidelines. Each question carried two marks, and there was no negative marking for wrong answers.
The university also set out how it handled questions with problems. Candidates who attempted a question with more than one correct option received full marks, and the same applied where a question had an error or was dropped. Questions left unanswered got no marks, and answers marked for review were still evaluated.
A provisional answer key came out on October 5, and candidates were allowed to raise objections before the final key was prepared. The final answer key released on November 6 is the one the result is based on.
How to check the result
Candidates can check their result on the official University of Kota website. Look for the SET 2026 result notification, open the qualified candidates list, and search the PDF for your roll number. The cutoff details are published in the annexures with the result.
Qualified candidates should keep their degree certificates and SET documents ready. Universities ask for these at the time of application for faculty posts, and our admission documents checklist covers the papers that institutions commonly ask for.
