If you are holding out for an MBBS or BDS seat in Rajasthan, this is it. The Medical and Dental Admission Board of Rajasthan has opened the stray vacancy round of NEET UG 2026 state quota counselling, and the window to apply shuts within hours: the application fee must be paid by 4 PM today, October 17, and both parts of the online form must be submitted by 8 PM. The announcement was made today and published with two official notifications on the counselling portal, ug.neetrajasthan.com.
The last round of the year
The stray vacancy round is the fourth and final round of the Rajasthan state quota process. It fills seats left vacant after the three earlier rounds across government, private and deemed colleges in the state. Only residual state quota MBBS and BDS seats are on offer. The board has also published a provisional vacant seat matrix, so candidates can see what is actually available before they pay anything.
Rajasthan has 3,866 MBBS and 806 BDS seats under the state quota this year. The exact number of vacant seats in this round will come from the final seat matrix the board updates on the portal.
Today’s deadlines, and the fees
The registration fee is non-refundable: Rs 2,500 for general and other applicable categories, and Rs 1,500 for SC, ST and ST-STA candidates with a Rajasthan domicile. Those are the fees confirmed in the notification, and both payment and form submission happen entirely online today.
What follows the deadline is a tight, in-person-heavy week. Offline document verification and submission of original documents runs from October 18 to October 20, between 9 AM and 4 PM. The provisional combined merit list comes out on October 20. Security amount deposition and online choice filling overlap from October 19 to October 21, with choices auto-locking at 11:45 PM on October 21. Candidates who already deposited the security amount in an earlier round generally do not have to pay it again, though the notification sets out conditions where a difference or a fresh deposit is required.
The provisional allotment result will be published on October 22. Allotment letters can be downloaded from that day, and reporting with documents plus payment of one year’s tuition fee must be completed between October 22 and October 26.
Who can take part
Only NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates can apply, and they must meet the Rajasthan state quota eligibility conditions. That means a Rajasthan domicile or bonafide certificate, prior registration in the state counselling process, and, crucially, no seat already joined from an earlier round. A valid NEET UG 2026 scorecard is mandatory.
Keep the documents ready now, because the verification window leaves little room to arrange paperwork later: the NEET admit card and scorecard, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates, the domicile or bonafide certificate, category certificates where applicable, an Aadhaar card and recent passport-size photographs. Our admission documents checklist covers what most of these portals ask for and how to keep copies in order.
Miss today’s deadline and there is no coming back: this round is the last chance at a state quota medical seat in Rajasthan for 2026, and candidates who skip it will not get another shot at these seats this year.
