The wait for Punjab’s postgraduate medical aspirants ended on November 2. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has released the Punjab NEET PG 2026 Round 1 provisional selection list, and candidates who filled choices in the first round can now see which college and branch they have been allotted.
The list is provisional, which is the detail that shapes everything that follows. It can still change after objections are heard, so candidates should treat it as a near-final allotment, not a confirmed admission, until the revised list appears.
What the list contains
The selection list runs to 30 pages and is organised candidate by candidate. For each person it records the merit number, registration number and NEET PG 2026 roll number, along with the candidate’s name and category. It also shows the university from which the candidate passed MBBS, and then the allotment itself: the college, the branch, the quota and the allotted category.
The branches span clinical, para-clinical and pre-clinical subjects, including General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anaesthesia, Radio-diagnosis, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Radiotherapy and Preventive and Social Medicine. Ultrasonography seats are listed in two batches.
Seats have been allotted in government, private and minority medical institutions across the state, including Government Medical College Patiala, Government Medical College Amritsar, Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Faridkot, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital Ludhiana, Christian Medical College Ludhiana, Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Amritsar, Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Bathinda, Gian Sagar Medical College and Hospital Banur, Dr B R Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences at SAS Nagar (Mohali), Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital Sangrur and Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports Patiala. Allotments were also made in district and civil hospitals for Post MBBS DNB and diploma courses, in Faridkot, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala, Mohali, Moga, Tarn Taran and Ropar.
The quotas in the list include Government Quota, Management Quota, Open Merit on an all-India basis, General Merit (50 percent), State Quota (50 percent), General Quota under the Punjab government notification, Sikh Minority seats, Minority Quota (Christian) and NRI Quota. The allotted categories include IP, General, EWS (IP), Backward Classes, Scheduled Caste, Christian and NRI. The last page of the PDF lists six NRI quota candidates without merit numbers, so those candidates should check their entries with particular care.
Objections close on November 3
BFUHS set out this sequence in its counselling prospectus. Choice processing ran from October 30 to November 1, and the provisional allotment was displayed on November 2. Candidates who spot an error have until November 3, up to 5 pm, to raise an objection. Objections go in person to the Admission Branch at BFUHS in Faridkot, with supporting documents in hand. After considering the objections, the university will display the revised provisional allotment on November 4.
What to check before reporting
Download the list from the official BFUHS website and check every field against your own records. Read the official notice and counselling schedule for the reporting, fee payment and document verification steps that follow the revised list.
Keep the documents that verification usually asks for ready now: the NEET PG 2026 scorecard, MBBS marksheets, internship certificate, category certificate and identity proofs. The admission documents checklist runs through the papers most counselling portals ask for, and it is worth comparing against your own file before you travel to report.
