National Law University Delhi will close registration for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2027 on November 10, 2026. The test is the route into the university’s BA LLB (Hons) programme and its one year LLM programme for the 2027-28 academic session.

The exam will be held on December 13, 2026, from 2 PM to 4 PM, in offline mode. Candidates who are still planning to apply should finish the form before the final day, when payment failures and upload errors are harder to fix in time.

Dates to remember

Registration opened on August 7, 2026. After the November 10 deadline, admit cards are expected on November 30, 2026. The December 13 test date applies to both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Students who are comparing law schools can use the guide to choosing a university in India to weigh programme length, intake and location before they commit to one entrance test.

Seats on offer

NLU Delhi offers 110 BA LLB seats on AILET merit. Five seats are set aside for foreign nationals and five for OCI/PIO candidates, taking the BA LLB total to 120.

For LLM, 70 seats are offered on AILET merit. The same pattern applies for foreign nationals and OCI/PIO candidates, with five seats each, taking the LLM total to 80.

Who can apply

For BA LLB, applicants need Class 12 or an equivalent examination. The minimum marks are 45% for General candidates, 42% for OBC candidates and 40% for SC, ST and PwD candidates. Students appearing for their Class 12 examinations can also apply.

For LLM, applicants need an LLB or an equivalent law degree. The minimum marks are 50% for General candidates and 45% for SC, ST and PwD candidates. Students in the final year of LLB can apply.

Fees and how to apply

The application fee is Rs 3,000 for General, OBC and EWS candidates. SC, ST and PwD candidates pay Rs 1,000. BPL candidates from the SC and ST categories are exempt from the fee.

Applicants should apply through the official NLU Delhi website. The form asks for personal and academic details, a recent photograph and a scanned signature. Candidates should check the admission documents checklist before they start, so a missing certificate does not stall the submission at the payment stage.

After filling the form, applicants should pay the fee, submit the application and save a copy of the submitted form. The university will not accept late applications once the November 10 window closes.
