The first list is almost out. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will declare the NEET PG Counselling 2026 Round 1 seat allotment result tomorrow, October 24. Processing runs through October 22 and 23, and once the result goes live on the official MCC website, candidates will know exactly which college and specialty they have been allotted.

MCC conducts counselling for 50 percent All India Quota (AIQ) seats and all seats in deemed and central universities. This is the round every medical postgraduate aspirant has been waiting for since registration closed on October 21.

What allotted candidates must do next

A seat only becomes an admission after reporting. Candidates who get a seat in Round 1 have to report to the allotted college between October 26 and November 2 to complete admission formalities. The verification of joined candidates’ data is scheduled for November 3.

To check the result, log in to the PG Medical Counselling section of mcc.nic.in with your NEET PG credentials and download the allotment letter. Carry it along with originals and photocopies of every document listed in it to the reporting college. If you are unsure what that set looks like, our admission documents checklist runs through the standard papers so nothing is missing at the verification counter.

Freeze or Float: the new joining choice

MCC has changed the joining rules this year. Candidates can now choose Freeze, which means joining the allotted seat physically, or Float, which keeps them in the running for an upgrade. The other relief this year is that the Round 1 exit is free: a candidate who does not take the allotted seat loses nothing from the security deposit and can try again in the next round.

The road ahead

For those aiming at a better seat, Round 2 registration runs November 6 to 11, choice filling November 7 to 12, and the Round 2 result comes out November 14, with reporting from November 16 to 23. MCC has kept the whole schedule tentative, so dates should be rechecked on the official website before each stage. Beyond that, Round 3 results are scheduled for December 4 and the stray vacancy round result for December 24.
