Who comes under this counselling
MCC conducts counselling for 50 per cent All India Quota seats, along with seats in central universities, deemed universities, ESIC institutes and Armed Forces Medical Services institutions. Anyone who has qualified NEET PG 2026 and meets the eligibility conditions can register for MD, MS and other postgraduate medical courses.
Watch the two October 21 deadlines
Registration and payment have separate closing times on October 21, so do not treat the last date as one single cut-off. Both close that day, and neither window runs till midnight. This is the part of the schedule that catches people out: MCC has advised against waiting for the final hours, and the portal is known to crawl under deadline traffic. Finish the form and the payment a day or two early and the problem disappears.
Choice filling, meanwhile, runs from October 13 to October 22. This is where the outcome is largely decided. Arrange your choices by course, college and expected admission options, in the order you genuinely prefer. Locked choices feed the allotment run on October 22 and 23, and the result follows on October 24.
What to keep ready
Scan the documents before you begin the form. The standard list runs through the NEET PG scorecard and rank details, MBBS degree or provisional certificate, MBBS marksheets, the internship completion certificate, the permanent or provisional medical registration certificate, a government photo ID, date of birth proof, and category or disability certificates where they apply. Reporting colleges ask for the originals after the allotment, so keep those filed as well. For a full rundown, see our admission documents checklist.
How to register
On mcc.nic.in, open the PG Medical Counselling section and choose New Registration. Fill the form, upload the scanned documents, and pay the registration fee along with the refundable security deposit online. Save the confirmation page once you submit. The portal usually slows down badly near the deadline, so registering early is the safer move.
What happens after the result
Allotted candidates must report to their colleges between October 26 and November 2 and complete the joining formalities. If a seat comes your way, original documents and copies both go with you. Our guide on how to choose a university lays out what to weigh before you lock your choices. MCC has marked this schedule as tentative, so keep checking the portal for revisions before each deadline.
