Dental graduates waiting on the central counselling pool get their answer today. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is scheduled to publish the NEET MDS 2026 Round 3 seat allotment result on October 31 on the official MCC portal. Anyone who registered for the round and locked choices will learn whether they have a Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) seat, and if so, where.
This round covers the central pool: 50 percent All India Quota (AIQ) MDS seats, all MDS seats in deemed and central universities, and Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) seats. That includes the central-pool dental seats at institutions such as Manipal College of Dental Sciences and Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences. State quota MDS seats are not part of this schedule. State counselling authorities run those rounds on their own timelines, so candidates holding a state rank should check their state portal separately.
How the round got here
Round 3 opened after the qualifying cutoff was lowered. On October 12, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare cut the NEET MDS 2026 qualifying cutoff by 20.576 percentile across categories and asked the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences to prepare revised results. That change widened the pool of candidates eligible for this round.
Registration ran from October 22 to October 27, closing at 3 pm on the last day, with fee payment open till 6 pm. Choice filling followed from October 23 to October 28, and choice locking was available on October 28 from 2 pm to 11:55 pm. MCC then processed the allotment on October 29 and 30, matching candidates to seats on rank, locked choices, availability, and reservation rules.
How to check the result
Candidates should go to mcc.nic.in and open the PG Dental counselling section. Log in with the registered credentials, look for the Round 3 allotment result, and download the allotment letter if a seat has been given. The letter carries the institute, the course, and the reporting instructions, so keep a copy saved and printed before travelling.
What allotted candidates must do next
Reporting and joining runs from November 1 to November 7, 2026. Allotted candidates have to report to the institute named in their allotment letter and complete the admission formalities inside that window. November 7 is the last reporting day in the published schedule, so a candidate planning to travel should not leave it to the final hours. Our admission documents checklist covers the scans and originals worth keeping ready before reporting, since a missing document is the most common reason a smooth reporting day turns into a second trip.
If no seat comes through
A candidate who gets no seat in Round 3 is not out of the process yet. A stray vacancy round follows Round 3 reporting, and MCC will publish its schedule on mcc.nic.in. The sensible move is to keep the login credentials handy and check the portal for that notice rather than relying on forwarded messages about dates.
