The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh, published the MP NEET PG 2026 Round 1 merit list on October 21, and 4,776 registered candidates made the cut. Inclusion makes a candidate eligible to take part in the state’s postgraduate medical counselling for MD, MS, Post-MBBS DNB and PG Diploma courses. It does not mean a seat has been allotted; candidates should focus on the vacancy list, objections and choice filling that follow.

The list is hosted on the official DME counselling portal. Candidates should search it with their NEET PG roll number or application number and check the state merit rank, category, domicile status and NEET percentile shown against their entry.

Objections close today

October 22 is the single day reserved for objections against the published vacancy list. Candidates who find errors must raise them through their registered candidate login on the MP Online portal. DME will dispose of the objections on October 23 and publish the final vacancy list the same day. Anything flagged after today will not be taken up.

The seat picture so far

DME has announced 1,413 MD and MS seats across the state’s private medical colleges for Round 1. For government medical colleges, the announced Round 1 matrix includes 485 seats for open category students, 25 for PwD candidates, 207 under the 30 percent open in-service quota, and 11 for open-PwD candidates. Candidates are advised to study the final matrix on October 23 before arranging their preferences, since in-service and PwD reservations can shift the realistic cutoffs for each course.

Choice filling from October 24

The choice filling and locking window opens on October 24 and closes at midnight on October 27. Registered candidates must select their preferred colleges and courses in order of preference and lock the list. Edited choices have to be locked through an OTP process, and the counselling notice says previously locked choices may stand if edited choices are not locked. Keeping a screenshot of the locked choices is sensible practice.

The Round 1 seat allotment result is scheduled for October 29. Allotted candidates must report physically to their colleges between October 30 and November 10, with document verification and admission formalities to be completed by 6 pm on November 10. Registration for Round 1 closed on October 20, so no fresh applications can enter this round. Our admission documents checklist covers the paperwork worth keeping ready before reporting.

State quota, not all-India

This round covers the state quota PG seats of MP government colleges and the counselling seats of private colleges, including their NRI quota. The All India Quota seats of government colleges are filled separately through MCC’s NEET PG Round 1 counselling, where the allotment result is due on October 24.
