March 15, 2027. That is the last day MAHE will accept Manipal Entrance Test applications for Phase 1, and the registration portal for MET 2027 is already live. If a Manipal B.Tech seat is on your shortlist, the application process has now officially begun.
The Manipal Academy of Higher Education has activated the candidate registration portal at manipal.edu, and the Phase 1 application window runs through March 15, 2027. MET is MAHE’s own entrance test for B.Tech and other undergraduate programmes at its participating institutes, including the Manipal Institute of Technology. The exam is conducted in two phases: Phase 1 is tentatively expected in April 2027 and Phase 2 in May 2027, which works as a second attempt for candidates who want another shot.
How to complete the MET 2027 application
The registration steps are the same ones MAHE follows every year. Go to manipal.edu and click Apply Now, then register with your basic details. MAHE sends your login password to the registered email address, so use an inbox you actually check.
After logging in, fill in your personal, academic and contact details, and select your preferred exam cities. You will then upload a scanned photograph and signature in the specified format and pay the application fee online through net banking, credit card or debit card.
Two warnings before you hit submit. First, MAHE provides no correction facility, so read every field before final submission. Second, multiple applications from the same candidate are rejected, so there is no benefit in registering twice. Our admission documents checklist is a useful run-through so nothing is missing when you sit down to apply.
What happens after the application window closes
Once Phase 1 applications close, MAHE opens slot booking through its online OTBS portal. You log in with your application number and password and pick your preferred exam slot. Slots are booked on a first-come, first-served basis, which means the earlier you log in after booking opens, the better your chances of getting your preferred slot. MAHE warns that requests to change a booked slot are not entertained, and slots are auto-allotted if you miss the booking window.
The exam itself runs in computer-based test mode at designated centres across India. If you are weighing whether MET fits your plan, our guide to choosing a university in India walks through how to compare a private university’s entrance against the national exams you may also be targeting.
