Doctors waiting for the NEET PG 2026 Round 2 result will have to wait three more days. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has moved the final allotment result from November 14 to November 17, and every other date in the round has shifted with it.
MCC issued the revised timetable in Notice No. 5 on November 7. The reason is the same one that delayed the round in the first place. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 9,783 new postgraduate seats, taking the national PG seat matrix to 68,305, and MCC needs the extra days to fold those seats into the Round 2 matrix and let institutes check their entries.
Registration for Round 2 opened at 1 pm on November 7 and stays open till 3 pm on November 14. The fee can be paid till 6 pm on November 14. Institutes have till 11 am on November 9 to verify the seat matrix, and candidates who hold a Round 1 seat can give it up without losing their security deposit till 6 pm on November 9.
Choice filling and result
Choice filling opens at 1 pm on November 10 and closes at 11:55 pm on November 15. Candidates can lock their choices from 4 pm on November 14, and the window closes with choice filling at 11:55 pm on November 15.
MCC will process the allotments and publish a provisional result on November 16. The final Round 2 result follows on November 17. Candidates who get a seat must report to their allotted college between November 18 and November 24. MCC will verify the data of joined candidates on November 25.

What this round covers
Round 2 handles admissions to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses through the 50 percent All India Quota seats, along with all seats in deemed universities, central universities and AFMS institutes. Round 1 of the same counselling ended with the final allotment on October 24, and reporting at the allotted colleges closed on November 2.
The new seats change the calculation for many candidates. A college or branch that was missing from the Round 1 matrix may appear in Round 2, so it is worth waiting for the revised matrix before locking preferences. Candidates who are still deciding whether to take a seat in this round or try for an upgrade later can work through how to choose a university in India before the next round opens.
Documents also need to be ready before reporting. The admission documents checklist covers the scorecard, MBBS degree, internship certificate and registration papers that colleges ask for at verification.
The revised schedule and the updated seat matrix will appear on the official MCC PG counselling portal. Candidates should check that page for the latest dates, since the earlier timetable no longer holds.
