Choice filling for Round 2 closed at 11 AM this morning. The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell now publishes the second online stray vacancy selection list for NEET UG 2026, covering the MBBS and BDS seats that stayed vacant after three centralised admission rounds.

The stray rounds are the last phase of the 2026-27 medical admission cycle in the state. Seats are being filled across government, corporation, government-aided, private unaided and minority medical and dental colleges, and the window is short: the third and final selection list comes out on October 25, and joining must be completed by October 26.

The revised schedule

The CET Cell issued the revised schedule through Notice No. 27, dated October 16, to fit three online stray rounds into the admission timeline set by the Medical Counselling Committee. Round 2 candidates entered fresh college preferences from October 21 to October 22, up to 11 AM. The selection list publishes today, and allotted candidates must complete physical reporting at their colleges on October 23 and 24, by 5:30 PM, with original documents and the required fee.

Anyone allotted a seat in Round 1 stays out of the next rounds. Joining a stray-round seat is mandatory once it is allotted, which is why candidates were advised to list only colleges where they actually intend to take admission.

Round 1, for reference, ran choice filling from October 17 to 18, published its selection list on October 19, and closed reporting at 5:30 PM on October 21.

Who can take part

The stray rounds are open to candidates who qualified NEET UG 2026, registered for the Maharashtra admission process, and came through the centralised rounds without a seat by the end of CAP Round 3. Fresh registration is not permitted for the online stray rounds, and preferences submitted during CAP Round 3 were cancelled. Every stray round needs a fresh set of choices. The seats span colleges affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and other participating medical and dental institutions across the state.
