For medical aspirants in Maharashtra who are still without a seat, today brings the next opening. The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell is scheduled to declare the Round 1 allotment result for the Special Stray Vacancy Round of NEET UG 2026 on November 8, and 138 MBBS and BDS seats are on the table.

The three special stray rounds come after three centralised admission process (CAP) rounds and three online stray vacancy rounds. Even after all of those, 138 seats stayed vacant in colleges across the state. The CET Cell published the vacancy list on November 4, and candidates filled their college preferences online from November 5 to 7, till 12 noon.

Seat break-up

Of the 138 vacant seats, 84 are for MBBS and 54 are for BDS. Every MBBS seat in a government medical college is already filled. The seats left are in private colleges and private universities, with two BDS seats in government colleges.

Candidates who get a seat in Round 1 must report in person to the allotted college by 5:30 pm on November 10. They need to carry their original documents and pay the prescribed admission fee. The CET Cell accepts payment through demand draft, RTGS or NEFT. Most of the participating colleges are affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in Nashik. Candidates who are still sorting out their paperwork can work through the admission documents checklist before they travel to report.

Who can take part

The round is open to candidates who qualified NEET UG 2026, registered for the Maharashtra admission process, and were not allotted a seat in any earlier Group A round. The CET Cell has kept the door shut for a few groups. Candidates who joined an MBBS or BDS seat by October 26, 2026, cannot take part, and neither can those who hold a seat through the All India Quota or through an earlier online stray vacancy round, including the special round. Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 3 or a later round but did not join are also out.

What happens next

Two more special stray rounds follow this one. If seats stay vacant after Round 1, the Round 2 allotment is scheduled for November 11 and Round 3 for November 14. November 16 is the final admission deadline for the whole process, so candidates who miss Round 1 still have two more chances, but the window closes fast. Anyone weighing whether to accept a seat in a private college or wait for the next round can read how to choose a university in India before locking in a decision.

The allotment list and the schedules for the next rounds will appear on the official Maharashtra CET Cell portal. Candidates should check that page through the day, since the result is released as a PDF list and the reporting deadline leaves only two days after the allotment.
