The State Common Entrance Test Cell has released the state merit list and the list of eligible registered candidates for NEET PG 2026, covering MD, MS and PG Diploma seats. Candidates can check both lists on the official counselling portal and on cetcell.mahacet.org.
The release follows the grievance round on the provisional list, which came out on October 28. Candidates could raise objections with supporting documents between October 30 and November 1, till 12 noon. With objections settled, the final provisional state merit list, the in-service state merit list and the CAP Round 1 seat matrix are due across November 1 and 2, and they fix the order in which seats will be allotted.
What the merit list decides
The list is the basis for allotment of 50 percent state quota seats in government and municipal corporation medical colleges, and 100 percent institutional seats in private unaided medical colleges in Maharashtra. Anyone missing from the eligible list does not enter choice filling, so confirm your name and details first.
Each entry carries the State Merit Rank, which is the rank used for seat allocation, along with the NEET PG All India Rank, total score, roll number and application number. It also shows category and quota details, including the verification status of caste certificates and claims under EWS, PwD and the in-service medical officer quota.
The dates that matter now
Choice filling for CAP Round 1 opens on November 2 and closes on November 4 at 11:59 pm. Candidates enter their college and course preferences in order on the portal, and the allotment will be drawn from those preferences alone. The CET Cell will publish the first selection list on November 5.
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Provisional merit list | October 28, 2026 |
| Grievance window | October 30 to November 1, 2026 (till 12 noon) |
| Final merit list and seat matrix | November 1 to 2, 2026 |
| Choice filling, CAP Round 1 | November 2 to 4, 2026 (up to 11:59 pm) |
| First selection list | November 5, 2026 |
| Physical reporting | November 6 to 10, 2026 (up to 5:30 pm) |
Candidates who get a seat in the first selection list must report in person to the allotted college between November 6 and 10, by 5:30 pm, with original documents for verification, the admission fees and the completed status retention form.
How to fill choices in three days
Three days is short for a decision that shapes years of training. Read the seat matrix before locking anything, and rank colleges in the order you would actually join. Fees vary by quota, so check the applicable fee for each seat type before submitting preferences. Our guide to choosing a university in India covers the practical checks worth making before ranking a college, from location and workload to the course itself.
Paperwork should be ready before the reporting window opens. The admission documents checklist covers the originals and copies candidates are usually asked for at joining. Candidates who are allotted a seat should also read the reporting instructions on the CET Cell portal before travelling, since reporting closes at 5:30 pm on November 10 and the schedule gives no extra days after that for this round.
