Candidates who spotted an error in the Maharashtra NEET PG provisional merit list have until noon on November 1 to raise it. The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has revised the CAP round 1 schedule, and the grievance window now runs from October 30 to November 1, up to 12 noon. A correction request needs supporting documents attached. The Cell has said requests without documents will not be considered.

The revision also moves the next step by a day. The final provisional state merit list and the in-service state merit list will now be published on November 2, along with the CAP Round 1 seat matrix. The earlier schedule had put both on November 1. Candidates should work from the revised dates, since the seat matrix fixes which seats are on offer in this round.

The round covers MD, MS and PG diploma seats under the state quota in government and private medical colleges. All dates and notices are published on the official Maharashtra NEET PG counselling portal.

How to use the choice filling window

Choice filling opens the same day the final merit list and seat matrix appear, so there is no gap to catch up. Candidates should read the seat matrix first and check the quota-wise fees before submitting preferences, as the Cell has asked applicants to verify fees before filling the form. The window stays open until 11:59 pm on November 4.

Three days is a short window for a decision that shapes the next few years of training. Ranking colleges in the order a candidate would actually join avoids a seat that goes unclaimed later. The how to choose a university in India guide covers the practical checks worth making before ranking a college, from location and workload to the course itself.

Two dates changed from the earlier schedule: the grievance window now runs to noon on November 1, and the final list and seat matrix now come on November 2. Our earlier report on the Maharashtra NEET PG provisional merit list covered the original dates.

After the selection list

The first selection list will be declared on November 5. Candidates who get a seat must report in person to the allotted college between November 6 and November 10, up to 5:30 pm. Reporting means carrying all original documents, paying the required fees and completing the status retention form.

Cheques will be accepted only on holidays, and a cheque must be replaced with a demand draft on the next working day. The admission documents checklist covers the originals and copies candidates are usually asked for at joining, so the November 6 to 10 window is spent on verification rather than hunting for paperwork.

The schedule for later CAP rounds will be announced in due course.
