Candidates allotted a seat in Maharashtra’s third AYUSH counselling round have until 5:30 pm on November 4 to report in person at their college. The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell released the round 3 allotment for BAMS, BHMS and BUMS courses for the 2026-27 academic year, and its November 3 press release puts the number of allotted candidates at 5,961.

The allotment covers 204 medical colleges offering 13,750 seats in all. Of those seats, 7,116 were filled during the first two rounds. The third round has now taken the filled count higher, and 673 seats remain vacant for the stray vacancy round that follows. The CET Cell will announce the schedule for that round separately.

BAMS takes the largest share

Ayurveda accounts for most of the round 3 allotments. A total of 4,085 candidates received BAMS seats across 139 colleges. Maharashtra has 9,303 BAMS seats in total, of which 5,041 were filled in the first two rounds. After the third round, 177 BAMS seats are still vacant.

The BAMS break-up shows where those seats sit. Six government colleges account for 329 allotted candidates, 17 government-aided and municipal colleges account for 860, and 116 unaided colleges account for 2,896. For students comparing a government seat with an unaided college, the fee and location differences are usually wide, so the choice deserves a careful look before reporting day. Our guide to choosing a university in India sets out the factors worth weighing.

BHMS allotments across 57 colleges

Homoeopathy follows with 1,683 allotments across 57 colleges. Two government colleges account for 82 of those seats, while 55 unaided colleges account for 1,601. A total of 489 BHMS seats remain vacant after this round.

Unani medicine (BUMS) seats were also part of the round 3 allotment, alongside BAMS and BHMS, taking the combined total to 5,961. The vacant seats across all three courses will move to the stray vacancy round, which is the next step for candidates who did not get a seat in the three regular rounds.

What to carry on reporting day

Reporting is in person, and the deadline is firm. Candidates need to carry all required original documents and pay the prescribed fees through a demand draft to complete admission formalities. The CET Cell has said candidates should finish reporting within the deadline to avoid losing their allotted seats.

Students heading to their college can run through our admission documents checklist before they leave, so a missing certificate does not turn into a wasted trip. Merit lists, allotments and future round schedules are published on the official CET Cell portal.
