The option registration window for Kerala’s postgraduate law counselling closes at 5 PM today. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, will shut down Round 1 option registration for KLEE LLM 2026 on the official CEE Kerala portal this evening, and candidates who have not locked their college preferences by then will not be considered for the first round of seat allotment.

Option registration for Round 1 opened on October 1. The authority has already pushed the deadline back twice, from October 5 to October 8 and then to October 22. With two extensions granted, candidates should treat today’s cutoff as final.

Who can register and what counts

Two conditions decide whether your options will be considered. Your name must appear on the KLEE LLM 2026 rank list, and you must have completed the mandatory document upload through the candidate portal. CEE Kerala has made it clear that options registered without the document upload step will not be counted for allotment, so check both before you start.

The order in which you list colleges feeds directly into allotment. Rank, category and the preference order you submit decide the seat you get, so put your most preferred college at the top and work down. because a careless order can land you a seat at a college you ranked low. Review every entry before you confirm, since you cannot change the list once the window closes.

How to lock your options today

Log in to cee.kerala.gov.in with your application number and password. Open the option registration tab on the candidate dashboard, select your colleges and courses one by one, and save each option as you go. Arrange them in your preferred order, confirm the final list and keep a printout of the submitted form.

The portal tends to slow down in the last hours as candidates rush in, so finish well before 5 PM. Keep your documents ready for the admission stage that follows, and our admission documents checklist covers the scans most colleges ask for at verification.

What comes after the window shuts

Once option registration closes, CEE Kerala will publish the provisional allotment list, followed by the final allotment list. Both lists will appear on the official portal, and allotted candidates will then move to fee payment and college reporting as per the schedule the authority announces next.

KLEE is Kerala’s state law entrance examination, covering admission to the three-year and five-year LLB programmes as well as the LLM at government and private law colleges across the state. It runs on a separate track from CLAT and the National Law Universities, so the counselling schedule and rules are set entirely by CEE Kerala.
