Kerala’s medical admissions are down to their last round. The option-entry window for the NEET UG 2026 stray vacancy round closed on October 20 at 6 pm, and the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala will publish the provisional seat allotment today, October 21. The final allotment follows on October 22.
This round covers the MBBS and BDS seats that stayed vacant after the third phase of Kerala’s state counselling, in government and self-financing colleges. CEE Kerala released the stray-round notification and the vacancy list on October 17. Round 3, the last regular round, closed earlier this month, and the seats left over from it, including those forfeited by candidates who did not report, now move through this round.
The schedule
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Fresh option registration | October 17 to October 20, till 6 pm |
| Provisional allotment publication | October 21 |
| Final allotment publication | October 22 |
| Joining at allotted colleges | October 23 to October 26, till 4 pm on the last day |
Who could register
Only candidates on the Kerala State Medical Rank List published by CEE Kerala could register fresh options. Candidates already admitted through the earlier state phases, those allotted a seat in the third phase, and candidates holding All India Quota seats were left out of this round. So were candidates who vacated a seat after 10 am on October 7.
What to do next
Candidates who get a seat in the final allotment must report to their college between October 23 and October 26 and pay the fees shown in the allotment memo. The window closes at 4 pm on October 26; an allotment not claimed by then is cancelled. There is no fresh registration window coming after this, so those who registered should simply watch the portal for the allotment lists.
Go through the admission documents checklist before you travel, and check results only on the official CEE Kerala portal. If you are choosing between a government seat and a self-financing one, this guide to choosing a university in India walks through how to compare them.
