October 31 is the date Kerala NEET PG candidates need to work towards now. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, has opened web option entry for PG medical counselling 2026, and candidates named on the provisional state merit list can start registering their choices. The window covers MD, MS and PG Diploma seats under the state quota, and it closes on October 31, 2026.
Only candidates on the merit list can take part. The choices you register are course, college and quota combinations, in the order you prefer them. Allotment will be based on those registered choices, so a combination left out of the list cannot be allotted later, even if a seat opens up in it.
What the deposit costs
The security deposit is paid at the time of option registration. General candidates pay Rs 10,000. Candidates from SC, ST and OEC categories, and others eligible for fee concession, pay Rs 5,000. The deposit is refunded to eligible candidates after the counselling process ends. If a candidate is allotted a seat and joins it, the deposit is adjusted against the tuition fee.
For candidates who join, the deposit is not an extra charge on top of the course fee. It comes back either as a refund or as part of the fee, depending on how the rounds end.
If your result is on hold
Some candidates will find their results withheld. CEE Kerala says this happened because documents submitted during the application or counselling process were incorrect or deficient. Those candidates can see exactly what is wrong in the Memo Details section of their candidate profile.
The fix has a short deadline. Valid documents to rectify the defects must be uploaded by 11:30 AM on October 29, 2026. Category details for withheld candidates will be published only after the documents are corrected, so this step comes before option entry can mean anything for them.
How seats will be allotted
A place on the provisional merit list does not guarantee admission to a particular college or specialisation. The final allocation depends on four things together: rank, category, the choices registered, and the seats available when a candidate’s turn comes. That is why the order of choices matters as much as the list itself.
Put combinations you would genuinely join at the top, and leave out any you would not accept. The list should reflect what you actually want, not every course on offer.
How to register your options
Log in to the official CEE Kerala portal and open the PG Medical candidate portal. From there, open option registration, pay the security deposit, and enter your preferred course, college and quota combinations in order. Review the full list once before submitting, since the allotment will only consider what is registered online.
Keep the documents you may need close at hand. The admission documents checklist covers the certificates and identity proofs counselling rounds usually ask for.
