The registration window for Kerala’s postgraduate medical admissions is open again. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala has extended the NEET PG 2026 counselling deadline, and candidates can now register on cee.kerala.gov.in until 10 AM on October 22.

The earlier cut-off had passed at 4 PM on October 16. Under the revised notification, NEET PG-qualified candidates get six more days to complete the application for state quota seats in government medical colleges and the Regional Cancer Centre in Thiruvananthapuram, as well as every seat in Kerala’s private self-financing medical colleges, including minority and NRI quota seats. The October 16 closure had offered no late window at all, so this extension is the last opportunity for anyone who missed the first round of registration.

Doctors applying under the service quota should read the fine print carefully. The original notification required the acknowledgement printout along with service documents to reach their head of department by a fixed time, and candidates for NRI quota seats had to upload their certificates during the online application itself. Those conditions carry over to anyone registering in the extended window.

How to register

Registration runs entirely on the official CEE Kerala website. Candidates sign in with their NEET PG roll number, rank and date of birth, then fill in personal and academic details, upload the required certificates and pay the application fee online. The system generates an application number and password during the process, and candidates should print the final acknowledgement page and keep it with them.

Defective or incomplete applications are rejected without any further correspondence, so every field and uploaded document deserves a second look before submission. Applicants need a recognised MBBS degree with NMC or state medical council registration and a completed one-year internship. Indian citizens of Kerala origin form the main applicant pool, though the notification also admits non-Keralites who earned their MBBS in Kerala without reservation benefits, and OCI cardholders for unreserved and NRI seats. Our admission documents checklist covers the paperwork colleges typically verify.

What happens after October 22

Once registration closes, CEE Kerala will prepare the state rank list from NEET PG 2026 ranks, and seats will be allotted through a centralised process based on that list and the order of choices candidates enter. The full counselling schedule is yet to be published on the official website. No further extension has been announced, and the portal closes at 10 AM on the 22nd, so finishing the application a day early is the safer move than leaving it for the morning of the deadline.
