Karnataka NEET PG candidates now have a trial run to judge their choices before the real allotment. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the Round 1 mock allotment for postgraduate medical counselling 2026, and candidates have until 10 am on November 5, 2026, to change the options they submitted.

The mock allotment is based on the choices candidates entered during the option entry window and their NEET PG ranks. It tells a candidate which college and course they would land if the allotment were run on their current list. That makes it a useful check, but it is only a preview. A seat shown in the mock list is not confirmed, and the final allotment can differ once candidates revise their choices.

What to change before 10 am on November 5

The revision window lets candidates add new options, delete ones they no longer want, and reorder the list. The order matters as much as the names on it, because KEA allots the highest-ranked available option on a candidate’s list. A candidate who got a lower preference in the mock result should check whether a more preferred college was missed because of the order, or because their rank fell short of its cut-off.

It is also worth checking the list from the bottom up. A candidate with only ambitious choices risks ending the round with nothing, while a realistic choice near the end of the list gives something to fall back on. Candidates should also re-check the revised fee details for the colleges on their list, since KEA had earlier warned that fee figures for several medical colleges had changed.

The revision has to be done on the official KEA counselling portal. Candidates log in, open the option modification link, make the changes and save them. It is best to finish well before the 10 am deadline, since a slow login in the last few minutes leaves no time to recover.

How the mock result fits the Round 1 schedule

The mock allotment comes after a delayed option entry phase. KEA had first set the option entry deadline at 4 pm on November 2, then extended it to 12 noon on November 3. The extension pushed the rest of the schedule back, and the mock allotment followed once the revised window closed.

After the modification window ends at 10 am on November 5, KEA will process the final saved choices. The provisional Round 1 allotment is due later that day, and the final Round 1 allotment follows on November 6. Candidates allotted a seat will then report to their colleges under the schedule KEA announces with the result.

One point from the KEA guidelines deserves attention now. The options entered in Round 1 remain valid for Round 2, and candidates will not be allowed to enter or edit options again for the second round. So the list saved by 10 am on November 5 will govern both rounds.

Candidates sorting out paperwork can check the admission documents checklist before reporting day. The Karnataka NEET PG Round 1 option entry schedule shows how the round reached this stage, including the original deadlines that were later extended.
