Candidates still working through their Karnataka NEET PG Round 1 choices got a few extra hours on Tuesday morning. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has extended the option entry window to 12 noon on November 3, 2026, after it was due to close at 4 pm on November 2.

The extension was announced by KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna. It covers option entry for postgraduate medical courses under Karnataka NEET PG counselling 2026, where candidates submit their preferred colleges and courses in order.

Check the fee details before you submit

The extension came with a warning that matters as much as the extra time. KEA said fee details for several medical colleges have changed, and some published figures contain discrepancies. Candidates should look at the revised fee information on the official portal before they lock in their choices, rather than going by fee figures circulated earlier.

That advice is worth taking seriously because a college choice made on an old fee figure can turn into an unwelcome surprise at reporting time. If a fee listed for a preferred college looks different from what you saw before, go with the version on the KEA portal and keep a note of it.

KEA has not said anything about another extension, so noon on November 3 should be treated as the end of this window. Leaving the submission to the final minutes is a risk, since a slow login or a payment page hiccup leaves no room to recover.

How to finish the option entry

Option entry runs through the official KEA portal. Candidates log in with their CET number and application number, open the Round 1 option entry link, and enter their choices in order of preference. Rearrange the list until it reflects the order you actually want, then save and submit.

It helps to have your documents in order before you sit down to do this, so a missing certificate does not eat into the last hour. The admission documents checklist covers the papers candidates usually need at this stage. KEA had earlier set November 2 at 4 pm as the close in its Karnataka NEET PG Round 1 option entry schedule, and this extension replaces that deadline.

What happens next

KEA has said a revised schedule will be published soon. The mock allotment result will come after the option entry window closes, and it gives candidates an estimate of where they stand based on the choices they entered. After the mock allotment, candidates are usually allowed to rearrange, add or delete options before the provisional allotment result.

For now, the immediate job is simple. Check the revised fee details, confirm your order of preference, and submit before noon.
