JEE Main 2027 Registration Starting Soon: Session 1 Exam on January 22-30

The National Testing Agency has released a tentative examination calendar for December 2026 to March 2027, covering 14 competitive exams. For engineering aspirants, the key item is JEE Main.
JEE Main 2027: the dates
- Session 1: January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 and 30, 2027 (January 31 kept as buffer)
- Registration: expected to begin shortly; the form is not open yet
JEE Main scores decide admission to BTech, BArch and BPlanning programmes at NITs, IIITs and other government-funded technical institutes. The exam happens in two sessions every year, in January and the first week of April.
Session 2 will avoid NEET and CUET clashes
Session 2 dates will be fixed after looking at the NEET-UG and CUET-UG schedules, so students don’t face overlapping exams. Lakhs of candidates write more than one of these national tests in a season, which is why the coordination matters.

- UGC NET: December 14-19, 2026
- Joint CSIR-UGC NET: December 19, 22 and 27, 2026
- CMAT: February 7, 2027
- CUET PG: March 1-5, 8, 12-20, 24 and 25, 2027
The NTA notes that all dates are tentative and can shift for administrative or logistical reasons. One more date for the calendar: IIT Delhi will conduct JEE Advanced next year, the exam that leads into the IITs.
If January is your target, get your documents in order now. Photo, signature, Class 10 certificate, category certificate. When registration opens, you want the form to take minutes, not a full evening.
