November 22 is still the date on the calendar, but the National Testing Agency has put a job in front of the form itself. In a notice dated October 28, 2026, the agency told JEE Main 2027 Session 1 applicants to finish their Aadhaar Re-KYC on DigiLocker before they start applying. Registration opened on October 24 on the official JEE Main portal, and the regular window closes on November 22.
The reason is practical. When Re-KYC is done first, the application pulls the latest details from the Aadhaar record. When it is skipped, older details can carry over and disagree with the rest of the form, and that kind of mismatch tends to surface at identity verification or biometric check-in, long after the form has been submitted.
The advisory also draws a line on logins. Candidates should sign in with their own DigiLocker, JanParichay or e-Pramaan (MeriPehchaan) credentials. A family member’s account or a borrowed login might get past the first screen, but the agency warns that mismatched profiles can disrupt authentication at later stages. If you have not set up your own account yet, that is the first thing to sort out, and our admission documents checklist covers the papers worth keeping ready before any entrance form.
How to refresh Aadhaar on DigiLocker
The refresh itself takes a few minutes. Open the DigiLocker app or website and go to Issued Documents, find the Aadhaar entry, and choose Refresh from its menu. DigiLocker will show a UIDAI consent prompt; approving it sends a one-time password to the mobile number linked with Aadhaar, and entering that code completes the update. Doing this before the form means the name, date of birth and other details the portal fetches are current.
One more check matters just as much. The name and date of birth typed into the JEE Main form must match the Class 10 certificate or marksheet exactly. Spelling differences and date formats that look harmless on screen are exactly what verification catches later, and the correction window does not cover every field.
The dates around the deadline
Candidates who miss November 22 still get a second chance. The late fee window runs from November 23 to 26, with an extra fee of Rs 500. After that, the correction window opens from November 27 to 29, but only specified fields can be changed there, so the form should be right the first time.
Session 1 itself is scheduled for January 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28, 2027, with Session 2 following in April 2027. The city intimation slip is due on December 30, 2026, and admit cards on January 13, 2027. The order of work, then, is simple: refresh Aadhaar on DigiLocker, confirm the Class 10 details match, and only then fill the form. Save the confirmation page once the fee payment goes through, since that page is the proof the application is complete.
