Students at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University who still have papers left to clear have until November 6 to apply for one last set of examinations. The university has opened an additional final opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students who could not finish their degrees within the time allowed.

The window is limited to a specific group. It covers students who have completed their course and whose maximum examination opportunities expired by June 2026. It does not cover students who still have a regular examination chance left. Those students should use the regular route, since this opportunity is meant for cases where the permitted chances have already run out.

The opportunity falls under Ordinances 10, 11 and 25. It covers papers from both odd and even semesters, so a student with pending papers in either half of the academic year can apply under the same window.

When the examinations will be held

Odd semester examinations under this opportunity are scheduled for December 2026 to January 2027. Even semester examinations are scheduled for May to June 2027. All examinations under this opportunity will be held in offline mode.

That split matters for planning. A student with papers in both semesters will not clear everything in one sitting. The odd semester papers come first, in December and January, and the even semester papers follow several months later, in May and June.

What it costs and what the application must carry

Applying costs Rs 25,000 as a continuation fee. On top of that, a student pays Rs 1,200 for each subject as a separate reappearing fee. For three papers, the subject fees add up to Rs 3,600 in addition to the continuation fee.

The application itself has two requirements that are easy to get wrong. It must list the papers the student wants to reappear in, and it must carry the signature of the concerned Dean, Director or Principal. Students should get that signature early rather than leaving it to November 6, when a missing signature would leave no time to fix the form.

Details of the notice and where to submit the form are on the official IP University website. Students should read that notice before applying, since it governs the process if any detail in a news summary differs from the university’s own wording. Keeping the admission documents checklist in hand while filling the form will help, because the details on the form should match the student’s records.

For students who do not qualify for this window, the position is different. They will need another route to a degree, and our guide to choosing a university in India sets out the trade-offs worth weighing before picking an institution.
