If you applied for the INI CET January 2027 session, the next step falls this Friday. AIIMS New Delhi opens the window to check the status of your registration on October 17, and it closes on October 19 at 5 pm. Registration itself closed on October 13, so no fresh form can be filed now, but the next two weeks still decide whether your application stays in the race.

Check your registration status between October 17 and 19

Log in to the official AIIMS exams portal during the window and confirm what the system says about your form. If the portal flags a deficiency, this is the stretch where you can address it. The check takes minutes, but candidates who skip it sometimes learn of a problem only on admit-card day, when there is less room to fix anything.

The calendar after the status window

AIIMS will publish the final registration status and upload the admit cards on October 26. The exam itself is on November 1, 2026, a single Sunday session at computer-based test centres in cities across India. Results are expected on November 7, and counselling for the January 2027 session is expected in December.

What the exam looks like

The paper has 200 multiple-choice questions and runs for three hours. A correct answer gets one mark, a wrong answer costs one-third of a mark, and an unanswered question costs nothing. The scores decide admission to MD, MS, six-year MCh and DM, MDS and MHA programmes.

Who was eligible

The January 2027 session is for MBBS and BDS graduates. Candidates needed a completed 12-month rotating internship, plus registration with the National Medical Commission, the Dental Council of India or a state council before applying online. The mark floor was 55 percent in the qualifying degree for General, OBC and EWS candidates, and 50 percent for SC and ST candidates.

The application fee was Rs 4,000 for General, OBC-NCL, foreign national, OCI and sponsored candidates, and Rs 3,200 for SC, ST and EWS candidates. PwBD candidates paid no fee.

Where the scores go

INI CET is the single entrance test for postgraduate programmes at the Institutes of National Importance: the AIIMS campuses, JIPMER Puducherry, PGIMER Chandigarh, NIMHANS Bengaluru and SCTIMST Thiruvananthapuram.

Once the result is out, keep your internship completion and council registration certificates with your degree marksheets. Our admission documents checklist lists the papers colleges usually ask for at the reporting stage.
