The INI CET January 2027 result is expected today, November 7. AIIMS New Delhi lists the date in the exam prospectus, which gives November 7 as the expected date of declaration. The exam was held six days ago, on November 1, so the timing fits the pattern of the last four sessions, when results came six to seven days after the test.
Candidates will find the result on the official AIIMS exams portal. AIIMS has not announced a time for the release, so the link may appear at any point during the day. The result comes as a merit list PDF. Candidates should download the PDF and search for their roll number to see their overall rank and percentile. Individual scorecards are released later and can be downloaded through the candidate login.
Who qualifies
Qualifying in INI CET depends on percentile, not a fixed mark. Candidates in the Unreserved category, including Overseas Citizens of India, as well as EWS, sponsored and foreign national candidates, need the 50th percentile. Candidates in the OBC, SC, ST and PwBD categories need the 45th percentile.
The exam held on November 1 was a three-hour computer-based test from 9 am to 12 noon, with 200 questions in four timed sections of 50 questions each. A correct answer earned one mark and a wrong answer lost one third of a mark. AIIMS does not release an official answer key for the exam, so the merit list is the first official word candidates get on where they stand.
The test is the single entrance exam for MD, MS, DM (6 years), MCh (6 years), MDS and MD (Hospital Administration) seats at the participating Institutes of National Importance. Those institutes are the AIIMS campuses, JIPMER Puducherry, PGIMER Chandigarh, NIMHANS Bengaluru and SCTIMST Thiruvananthapuram.
Final seat position is out
AIIMS has also released the final seat position for the January 2027 session. The update carries small increases in three courses. General seats in MCh Paediatric Surgery at AIIMS Jodhpur went from one to three, MCh Surgical Oncology at JIPMER went from two to three, and DM Neurology at AIIMS Bibinagar went from two to three. Candidates should check the seat position PDF on the AIIMS exams portal before choice filling, since the final numbers decide which seats are actually open in each round.
What happens next
Counselling is expected to begin in December 2026. It runs online, with three rounds including an open round. Seats are allotted in order of merit, based on the choices candidates submit and the reservation and institutional preference policies of each institute. The exact counselling schedule will be published after the result.
Until then, candidates should keep their admit card, registration ID and the downloaded merit list safe. The admission documents checklist covers the papers usually needed at the reporting stage, and the guide to choosing a university in India can help candidates compare institutes before they fill their choices.
