AIIMS New Delhi declared the INI CET result for the January 2027 session on November 7. A total of 34,236 candidates have qualified, and the merit list is now available on the official AIIMS exams portal.

The result comes six days after the exam held on November 1. AIIMS had released admit cards for the test on October 26. The exam was a three-hour computer-based test with 200 questions in four timed sections of 50 questions each. A correct answer earned one mark and a wrong answer lost one third of a mark. AIIMS does not release an official answer key, so the merit list is the first confirmation candidates have of their standing.

Candidates can check the result by opening aiimsexams.ac.in, going to the results section and opening the INI CET January 2027 result link. The merit list downloads as a PDF. Search it with Ctrl+F and your roll number to find your overall rank, percentile, category and qualifying status. Scorecards are also available through the candidate login.

Who qualifies

Qualifying in INI CET depends on percentile, not a fixed mark. Candidates in the Unreserved category, including Overseas Citizens of India, as well as EWS, sponsored and foreign national candidates, need the 50th percentile. Candidates in the OBC, SC, ST and PwBD categories need the 45th percentile.

Which seats the exam covers

The test is the single entrance exam for MD, MS, DM (6 years), MCh (6 years), MDS and MD (Hospital Administration) seats at the participating Institutes of National Importance. Those institutes are the AIIMS campuses, JIPMER Puducherry, PGIMER Chandigarh, NIMHANS Bengaluru and SCTIMST Thiruvananthapuram.

AIIMS has also released the final seat position for the January 2027 session. It carries small increases in three courses: general seats in MCh Paediatric Surgery at AIIMS Jodhpur went from one to three, MCh Surgical Oncology at JIPMER went from two to three, and DM Neurology at AIIMS Bibinagar went from two to three. Candidates should check the seat position PDF on the exams portal before choice filling, since the final numbers decide which seats are actually open in each round.

What happens next

Qualifying candidates will now wait for the counselling schedule, which AIIMS will announce separately on the exams portal. Counselling is expected to begin in December 2026 and runs online, with three rounds including an open round. Candidates will have to register and fill their preferred institutes and courses, and seats will be allotted in order of merit.
