Two research admission calls at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi close tomorrow, November 9, at 5 pm. The Centre for Climate Change and Disaster Management and the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering both stop taking forms at that hour. Anyone still working on an application for either has about a day left.
The calls are part of the institute’s January 2027 intake, for the even semester of 2026-27. IIT Mandi is taking applications for PhD, M.Tech by Research and dual degree programmes across its schools and centres. Forms go in through the Samarth common admission portal, linked from the institute’s PhD admissions page. The deadlines are not the same everywhere. What closes on November 9
The Centre for Climate Change and Disaster Management is taking applications for PhD, M.Tech by Research and dual degree programmes. Its call opened on October 14 and closes on November 9 at 5 pm.
The School of Computing and Electrical Engineering is taking applications for M.Tech by Research, PhD and dual degree programmes for January to May 2027. Its deadline was November 4. The school has extended it to November 9 at 5 pm, which gives applicants who missed the first date one more day.
Other schools stay open longer
Not every call ends tomorrow. The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences is taking PhD applications until November 12. The School of Management is taking applications for MS by Research and PhD until November 18 at 5 pm. Two more calls run until November 20 at 5 pm: IKSMHA, for M.Tech by Research, PhD and dual degree, and the Centre for Promotion of Additive Manufacturing, for PhD, dual degree and M.Tech by Research.
Some calls have already closed
A few schools have finished taking forms. The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and the School of Physical Sciences closed on October 30. The Centre for Human-Computer Interaction closed on November 2, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering on November 3, and the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering on November 5. If your school is on that list, the January 2027 call is over for it.

Eligibility, documents and the fee differ from one school to another, and a form sent to the wrong call will not carry over.
