Senior professionals considering IIT Bombay’s joint Executive MBA with Washington University in St. Louis have two days left to file their applications. The programme has extended the Round 4 deadline for Cohort 12 to October 18, 2026, for the January 2027 intake.

The 18-month programme is run jointly by the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management at IIT Bombay and the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. Graduates receive a single joint master’s degree from an Indian and an American university. The format is modelled on WashU’s executive MBA programmes in the United States and China.

Classes built around a full-time job

The programme is designed for people who do not plan to step away from their careers. Classes meet for four consecutive days each month, from Thursday to Sunday. Seventeen residential modules take place on the IIT Bombay campus in Mumbai, with classrooms and accommodation on site. Three international modules are held in Washington, D.C., and St. Louis, and include sessions at the Brookings Institution, industry visits and joint learning with WashU’s other executive MBA cohorts.

The foundational core covers strategy, corporate finance, strategic marketing, financial accounting, operations, managerial economics, data-driven decision-making, start-up consulting and negotiation. The advanced core moves into leadership, valuation, competitive strategy, market analytics, innovation management and global supply chain management.

Participants also complete a Business Startup Consulting Project. They work in cross-functional teams on live engagements with real clients, building consulting skills in critical thinking, data analysis, project management and executive communication. Faculty from both IIT Bombay and WashU teach across the modules, bringing current research to real business problems.

Who the programme admits

The programme is aimed at people who already lead. The eligible profiles include CEOs, CIOs, CXOs, directors, presidents and vice-presidents, business heads moving into broader leadership roles, and entrepreneurs expanding their businesses. Cohorts draw participants from technology, manufacturing, finance, consulting, healthcare, energy and consumer businesses.

Graduates receive alumni status at both universities. The career services team provides one-on-one career coaching, offered as a lifetime benefit to alumni.
