Working professionals who want an IIM Ahmedabad MBA without leaving their jobs have a fresh opening. On October 14, the institute invited applications for the second batch of its two-year Blended MBA in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (BPGP: BA & AI), a programme built for people in the workforce.

The programme runs through the Krishnamurthy Tandon School of AI at IIMA, set up with a Rs 100 crore endowment from business leader Chandrika Tandon and her husband. At the announcement, IIMA Director Bharat Bhasker said industry needs managers who understand both management and technology, because AI is changing how companies work.

What the programme looks like

The course runs six terms over two years. Most teaching happens through live online classes, with three on-campus modules at Ahmedabad. The curriculum mixes mathematical modelling, programming and machine learning with core management subjects such as finance and strategy, taught through case discussions, simulations, capstone assignments and action-learning projects.

The 20 electives cover predictive and prescriptive analytics, product management, finance and risk, human-AI collaboration, AI ethics and regulation, supply chain digitisation, generative AI and agentic AI. Students get remote access to IIMA’s academic resources, including the Vikram Sarabhai Library.

Leaving after the first year earns a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analytics and AI. Finishing the full two years brings entry to IIMA’s global alumni network.

Who can apply

Applicants need a bachelor’s degree, or a CA, CS, ICWA or CMA qualification, in any discipline, with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.

Work experience counts as of March 31, 2027: three years of full-time experience after a three-year degree, two years after a four-year degree. It is aimed at working professionals and entrepreneurs in finance, marketing, operations, logistics, IT, HR and supply chain.

How selection works

Applicants can submit a valid CAT, GMAT or GRE score from within the previous five years, with test dates no earlier than January 1, 2022. Both GMAT Classic and GMAT Focus Edition are accepted. The other route is the IIMA Admission Test for BPGP: BA & AI, held separately for each round. Shortlisted candidates then face interviews with IIMA faculty members.

Applications run in two rounds. Round 1 opened on September 5 and closes on November 2, 2026, at 11:59 pm. Its admission test is on November 22, interviews run December 5 to 13, and final selection is December 21. Round 2 runs November 3 to December 20, with the test on January 10, 2027 and final selection on February 10, 2027. Full details are on the official admissions page; Round 1 applications go through the Round 1 application portal.
