IIM Ahmedabad closes summer placements with 230+ roles across 3 clusters

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad closed its summer placement process for the PGP Class of 2028 on October 30, with recruiters offering more than 230 roles across three clusters. The process ran from October 23 to October 30, and companies took part both online and in person.
The split across clusters was fairly even. Cluster 1 brought more than 85 roles, cluster 2 more than 75, and the final cluster on October 30 added more than 70. Cluster 3 covered 12 cohorts, the widest spread of the three rounds. Enterprise technology recruiters included Microsoft, Hexaware, Ascendion Engineering and Sprinklr. In analytics and IT consulting, Tata Consultancy Services recorded the highest number of hires, alongside Indegene and Accordion India.
The artificial intelligence cohort featured CRMIT Solutions, DCirrus Cloud and Suchama AI, a sign of how much room dedicated AI roles now take up even in a general management placement season. Banking and insurance recruiters included Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development. Infrastructure and core manufacturing brought in Tata Steel, Jindal Steel Oman, AD Engineer and Satyam Auto, while Beghou Consulting and Iresh Consultants took part in niche consulting. Bangalore International Airport Ltd, Motilal Oswal, ReNew and Tesco were among the other recruiters in the round.
What the earlier clusters brought
The first cluster, held on October 23, stayed close to the institute’s traditional strengths. Its six cohorts covered advisory consulting, cards and financial advisory, investment banking and markets, management consulting, private equity and venture capital, and transformation and operations consulting. McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group and Bain were among the consulting firms, and Goldman Sachs, HSBC and JPMorgan Chase were among the banks. Some roles were based outside India, including EY-Parthenon in Singapore and Goldman Sachs and HSBC in Hong Kong.
Cluster 2, held on October 27, widened the field. Its nine cohorts covered conglomerates, consumer goods, consumer services, advertising and media, financial platforms and services, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, and retail B2B and e-commerce. Amazon and Myntra recruited in retail, Bloomberg, FinIQ and Indxx in financial platforms, and Airtel in consumer services. Two cohorts were new this year: fashion, with Raymond, and real estate, with Eden Landmarks and Experion Developers.
