Students enrolled with the Indira Gandhi National Open University can now download their hall tickets for the December 2026 term-end examinations. The university released the admit cards on November 6 through its Samarth portal, and the exams are scheduled to begin on November 25.
The hall tickets cover eligible learners in IGNOU’s open and distance learning and online programmes. The university issued the notification through its Student Evaluation Division on November 6. Students who have submitted their exam forms for the December session should download the hall ticket now and check every detail on it, rather than leaving it to the last evening before their first paper.
How to download the hall ticket
The download runs through the Samarth portal, the same login most IGNOU learners already use for assignments and project submissions. Go to the official Samarth portal and sign in with your registered credentials. On the home page, open the link for the December 2026 TEE admit card. The hall ticket will show your examination centre, the schedule for each course code and the session timings. Download the file and take a printout.
The portal can slow down when thousands of students log in at once, so downloading early is the practical move. A printout taken now also gives time to spot a mistake and get it fixed before the exams start.
Check the details before exam day
The hall ticket carries the enrolment number, programme details, course codes, examination centre and the dates and sessions for each paper. Students should read each of these against their own records. A wrong centre or a missing course code is much easier to sort out now than on the morning of the exam.
If any detail does not match, the university asks students to contact their respective IGNOU Regional Centre for clarification. The Regional Centre is the office that handles corrections for its learners, so that is where a discrepancy should go rather than to a study centre or a helpline.
What to carry to the exam centre
A printed copy of the hall ticket is required at the centre, along with a valid IGNOU identity card. Entry is given only after showing both documents. A phone screenshot is a poor substitute for the printout, and students who arrive without the identity card risk being turned away at the gate.
Our admission documents checklist covers the habit of keeping the hall ticket, identity card and a spare printout together the night before an exam, so nothing is left to a morning search.
One more deadline before the exams
The hall ticket is only one of two December exam tasks still open. IGNOU recently moved assignment submissions online through its Online Assignment Management System, and the last date for uploading assignments for the December 2026 exams is November 20. Our report on the online assignment uploads has the file size and first-page rules for those uploads.
Assignments and hall tickets run on separate systems with separate dates. A student who still owes assignments should finish those uploads first and then download the hall ticket, since both deadlines fall inside the same three weeks.
