The last allocation window for Himachal Pradesh medical admissions closes today. Atal Medical and Research University has released the final seat allotment for the HP NEET UG stray round, and anyone with a seat in the list must report to the allotted college by October 26, 2026. The list is on the official AMRU portal.

The stray round covers MBBS and BDS seats under the state quota. It was run to fill the vacancies left after three regular counselling rounds, so for most candidates in this pool it is the final chance to take a seat for the 2026-27 session.

How the stray round ran

AMRU issued the stray round notice on October 19, 2026. Fresh online applications closed at noon on October 21, and the merit list and vacancy position were displayed the same day. Candidates filled and locked their choices by 3 pm on October 22. The final allotment followed on October 26, with reporting set for the same day.

Only candidates who had qualified NEET UG 2026 and submitted a fresh application to AMRU before the October 21 deadline were in the merit list. Candidates already admitted in earlier rounds with no upgrade option could not take part.

Which colleges took part

Himachal Pradesh has 634 MBBS seats and 174 BDS seats in total across its state counselling pool. Six government medical colleges and one government dental college took part in the stray round. The government medical colleges are at Shimla, Tanda, Nahan, Ner Chowk, Chamba and Hamirpur.

The private pool includes Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College at Solan. Private dental colleges at Sunder Nagar, Nalagarh and Paonta Sahib also feature. Candidates should check the allotment list itself for the exact college, course, quota and category against their name, rather than going by the seat totals alone.

How to check the list

Open the AMRU portal and look for the HP NEET UG stray round allotment link. The list is published as a PDF. Search it for your NEET UG roll number or name, then note the allotted college and course and save a copy of the list for your records.

Reporting means completing the joining formalities at the allotted college on October 26. Candidates who do not report by the deadline lose the seat, and the seat does not carry forward to another round for them. Our admission documents checklist covers the certificates and scans to keep ready before leaving for the college.
