If your college admission in Haryana was stuck halfway, the window just opened again. The state Higher Education Department has extended the last date for UG and PG admissions for the 2026-27 academic session to November 1, 2026.
The extension covers the first, second, third and fourth years of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Students who could not complete the admission process get one more chance to register on the state’s online admission portal.
What the new order says
According to UNI India, the decision came through a memorandum from the Director General of Higher Education on October 22. It followed requests from colleges and students to reopen the admission portal and give late applicants more time.
The department’s official admission portal carries an “Admissions Alert” confirming the revised date. It also extends the fee-payment deadline for second, third and fourth-year students to November 1, so continuing students who have not paid their annual fees get the same extra time. The portal has posted a notice dated October 22, 2026 on centralized online admissions for UG/PG programmes for the session.
This is not the first extension
Haryana has moved the admission deadline several times this session. The previous extension pushed it to October 6, 2026, announced by Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda after principals of various colleges and students kept asking for the portal to be reopened. That order applied to government, government-aided and self-financing colleges across the state.
The repeated extensions show how much admission work was still unfinished. Among the state’s public institutions is Kurukshetra University, and colleges affiliated to Haryana’s universities admit students through the centralized process run by the Higher Education Department.
How to register before November 1
New applicants must register on the official DHE admission portal. The portal charges a one-time non-refundable registration fee of Rs 100. Keep the documents from our admission documents checklist ready before you start, and check every entry on the form. An incomplete form or a missed payment can still lock you out of the process.
The portal also notes that undergraduate admissions this session follow the NEP-2020 structure, with multiple entry and exit options: students can leave after one year with a UG certificate, after two with a diploma, after three with a degree, and after four with an honours degree.
